Leach, Leacy Naylor, 1862-1937

Poet and editor Leacy Naylor Green-Leach was born in Culpepper County, Virginia, in 1862. She was educated in private schools in Virginia until she was enrolled in Hellmuth Ladies' College in London, Ontario, from which she graduated with honors at age sixteen. Green-Leach was the great-great-granddaughter of George Mason, one of the authors of the Bill of Rights. Her literary activities include the founding and editing of a Baltimore-based literary magazine called The Circle, which ran from 192...
